Steamroller exists to breathe life into stories, characters, and experiences in visual, physical, and virtual spaces. Each project that comes our way, be it a game, a film, or a theme park ride, exists in its own universe. It is our job to bring this multiverse to life. Our animators build believable characters and whole worlds in a multitude of universes, while our developers manipulate the rules of perception to transport you to a new definition of reality. We relish the opportunity to bring our clients’ universes to life while also developing our own stories.

EXPERIENCE

Freelance Illustrator (June 2014 – Present)

–       Digitally illustrate various images and manage work for my clients via a popular freelance website

–       Polka Dot Pug Inc.: Draw cute, fun, and whimsical images as directed by the stationary company’s owner for sale and print. This involves interpreting directions, submitting drafts, making adjustments and providing final files. These designs are then uploaded onto their website for purchase. I am currently working on new images.

–       D.K. Authords: Illustrate scenes for each novel in the fantasy series, The Room of Villains, a seven-part book series which is currently getting ready to publish the 3rd installment. These images are done in a realistic style and feature key scenes from each story that the author and I decide upon together. While I am rendering each image, I send updates to the author for his final approval and make adjustments based on his thoughts. My contract is ongoing as the series progresses.

 

Staffing Manager (May 2016 – April 2017)

Carol Harris Staffing, LLC. | New Kensington, PA

–       Managed existing and new client/candidate relationships, anticipated future needs of our customers, and conducted interviews of applicants while maintaining expert knowledge of internal information and processes. To fulfill these duties, I recruited and selected top candidates for jobs, communicated with clients about their current needs, created and revised resumes, scheduled interviews, and ensured all required paperwork was completed.

–       Strove to improve our business by hosting and promoting recruiting events, maintained new and old client relationships by reaching out via sales calls, posted ads on multiple recruiting sites as well as created flyers using Microsoft Publisher to advertise new positions, upcoming events, and general information.

–       Other work included completing background checks, drug screens, colorblind tests, attending and preparing for unemployment hearings, and solving issues involving payroll, attendance, benefits, compensation, and legal and emergency situations. I also created numerous spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel (for our clients and internal purposes), completed walkthroughs of new client facilities, and reported incidents to ensure OSHA standards were met.

–       Worked with high profile companies such as PPG and Bayer, used SAP sites to communicate with clients and workers, and created four manuals that went into extreme detail about my position’s job duties, our main client information, the company’s important and common documents, and how to create and post effective ads to recruiting websites.

–       Light clerical duties comprised of answering phones with a positive and helpful attitude, transferring calls, copying, faxing, scheduling in-office appointments, explaining procedures and paperwork to new applicants, organizational skills, heavy data entry, high priority recognition, and completing detailed weekly reports of branch activities and my own work

 

Patent Editor (March 2015 – April 2016)

–       Edited and reviewed hundreds of U.S. patent documents each day in accordance with the patent office rules while keeping up to date on current regulations involving patents and the editing process.

–       Executed flawless data entry and extreme review on a daily basis to meet quotas by paying special attention to format, spelling, order, certain form inclusion, escalating documents to appropriate departments when necessary, and making precise and efficient edits to correct mistakes.

–       Other achievements included going several months in a row without a single error on my feedback and providing suggestions to improve our regulations that clarified some of the rules and guidelines for a patent editor’s job duties, which were later officially added to the company’s guidebook.

Electronics Associate (August 2014 – March 2015)

Walmart | Tarentum, PA

–       Provided excellent customer service in the electronics, toy and photo section of the store by making quick and accurate cash transactions at the POS, answering phones with a friendly attitude, and keeping knowledgeable about current technology including video games, phones, computers, televisions, audio equipment and accessories.

–       Monitored departments by regularly stocking merchandise, making adjustments to our inner database accordingly, assisting with online pick-ups by verifying identities, payment methods and order accuracy and condition, helping customers locate merchandise, constantly, organizing shelves, running photo printers, ensuring quality of photo prints, and assisting customers with check out and the self-print stands.

–       Consistently volunteered to help other departments and for increasing job duties such as covering for layaway, crafts, front end cashiers, and warehouse employees. These additional job duties included creating new layaways, retrieving correct orders from our inventory, answering any questions about the process, measuring, cutting and pricing fabric to customer specifications, quickly checking out and bagging items for customers, unloading trucks on an assembly line and sorting merchandise into correct departments.
