Steamroller exists to breathe life into stories, characters, and experiences in visual, physical, and virtual spaces. Each project that comes our way, be it a game, a film, or a theme park ride, exists in its own universe. It is our job to bring this multiverse to life. Our animators build believable characters and whole worlds in a multitude of universes, while our developers manipulate the rules of perception to transport you to a new definition of reality. We relish the opportunity to bring our clients’ universes to life while also developing our own stories.

Built an animation system in a C++ engine using DX11 compute shaders, which supports full and partial body animation
Implemented an animation state machine to dynamically adjust a character’s animation as they cross various obstacles

Worked on character abilities and dynamic weather system

Particle Systems       

Added particle system support to a C++ game engine by generating a vertex buffer for particles
Set up dynamic particle emitters with adjustable particle parameters

Soft Shadows Using Percentage Filtering     

Implemented a renderer in C++ that utilized the percentage closer soft shadow algorithm to solve aliasing issues and generate realistic shadows

Helped the team convert the designed levels into concrete in-engine levels
Iterated on levels based on playtest feedback
