Steamroller exists to breathe life into stories, characters, and experiences in visual, physical, and virtual spaces. Each project that comes our way, be it a game, a film, or a theme park ride, exists in its own universe. It is our job to bring this multiverse to life. Our animators build believable characters and whole worlds in a multitude of universes, while our developers manipulate the rules of perception to transport you to a new definition of reality. We relish the opportunity to bring our clients’ universes to life while also developing our own stories.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing in regard to the Freelance Graphic Designer opening at your company.  Currently I am the 3D/2D Animator and Assistant Producer for the Young Astronauts Council, Inc. In May 2016, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects from the School of Visual Arts.  In May 2012 I received my Associates in Applied Science in Computer Art from Suffolk County Community College. I believe my combination of education, previous experience, hard work and devotion would make me an ideal candidate for the position.

Presently I am the Animator and Assistant Producer for the Young Astronauts Council, Inc. where I am creating and designing the spaceship for an upcoming Saturday morning kids television show that will teach children about space and astronauts.  The softwares I am using to design the spaceship and the opening animation are Blender and Adobe After Effects.   I also created and edited flyers which are sent out to local councilmen, political figures, scientists and famous actors to inform about the show and ask for them to appear as guests.  I meet with the chairman of the Young Astronauts Council, Inc. to go over the progress of the episode and change any critiques he may have. By working on this program I follow direction, organize and handle multiple projects and deliver them in a timely fashion.

During Summer 2015 and Summer 2016, I interned with award winning artist Lillian Schwartz creating 3D abstract animations inspired by her previous work. By using specific colors and techniques, we enhanced the visual experience with Chroma-Depth 3D glasses.  All animation was made in Autodesk Maya and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro. This internship has given me experience in working on a team and bouncing ideas to make the final product the best possible, which is beneficial knowledge for this position.  I also interned at Universal Solutions MMP for the Video Editing, After Effects and Animation position to produce commercials for marketing and adds.

While I was a student at SVA, my thesis required a character bone rigging with Autodesk Maya and Mixamo.  I also helped rigged a robot in a video short for a group project.

Thank you for considering me for the opening and I hope to hear from you soon, there is a link to my website, which contains my portfolio and has samples of my work.  Please note I can do anything in motion graphics, editing, rigging and animation.

Respectfully yours,

Morris Biemann
