VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR LEADERSHIP:
In school, I joined art clubs every year in middle school. Every week, the art teacher would describe a scenario (character, landscape etc.) ask the students to draw what comes to their mind. The best five would be displayed in the staff corridor of our building, with the winner displayed at the top. I won about three times every year. The art teacher was very encouraging as well. This lead me to pursue a career in Art which eventually lead to Animation.
In my first semester of college, I volunteered at the Bengaluru International Film Festival from 15th to 22nd December 2011. I was with the group that handled the guests at the Ramada Hotel. I got to interact with some directors and producers from the industry and see some very interesting films.
On vacation from college, I volunteered at a charity for underprivileged children for two months. Each volunteer was in charge of six children as a leader. I taught my group English, showed them how to draw, and introduced them to some of my favorite books. The experience was very nice and my reward was the smiles on the children’s faces when I was with them.
Before my final semester in 2014, I volunteered as an intern at Talking Pictures in Bahrain. I was part of an ad campaign for Noon Sports in UAE, working closely with the producer and director, helping with the models and props. I also helped in writing shooting scripts for Yamaha Motors in Oman. It was a thrilling experience to be in a real studio.
